Question 5: How did you attract your audience?

Question 7 :Looking Back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

I have learn many skills through this process as everything from the start of this year has been new experience. Majority of the software which has been used to create our magazines is new to me therefore everything I was a learning curve. I’ve learnt how you use InDesign and Photoshop. However I feel there are a few things I need to work on with Photoshop as it did take me a while to do things I was unsure of. Learning about the magazine world and the media process I really enjoyed as it gave me an insight into media industry which I have a interest in. I think the most important thing that I have learnt is about the audience and the relationship it has with a magazine. I feel that this is an important aspect to understand because this is your key to a successful magazine; if people don’t like it or can’t relate to it then they won’t have an interest of purchase it.

Question 3: What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

Taking it all into consideration I think my magazine would best suited to a institution such as Front line because my magazine is a mixture of different mainstream magazine so therefore its different by still following the 'mainstream' trend.

Question 6:What have you learnt about technologies from the process og constructing this prouct

Camera- I have my own DSLR camera so it had  of knowledge prior to the coursework. I experimented with the shutter speed so then more light  could come into the camera creating a brighter image, also change it to portrait  rather than automatic to give a shallow of depth. Took the flash of an use professional lights an natural light for my final images.

Paint- i had a lot of knowledge of and it was easy use. Compared to Photoshop which is very complex software an hard to get your head around it which i struggle with in some aspects  I therefore create my little stamps for my double page spread on paint.

Photoshop- I had little knowledge and experience of Photoshop before this task. I learnt how to manipulate an image cropping rotating , enlarging etc I also found out how to improve the image through brightness, contrast, spot fixer, airbrushing, increasing certain colours etc. I also now know how to a different text on top of the image an that the fact photo shop is all about layers.

for example here is something I  have also  learnt: the magnetic feathering tool to create a soften blur around the edges

I also learnt how to fade layers on top of the original image which is shown here:

In design- This was new software to me so everything was a learning process. I learnt how to get change the guidelines an margins as well how to change the text size and ...... I learnt that there is a different text and object/image boxes. I also learnt that the black an white arrows have different uses. learnt what the different tools were and also how to create magazines, magazine layout and how they are are in columns etc.

Blogger- The blogger was new to me as I never use it before so everything was a learning experience. I learnt how to create posts an how to update them. I also learnt how to embed things on top my blog such as prezi's an slide share. it also helped me keep my planning an research organise as I could post regularly.

You tube- I use you tube throughout my research an planning as I wanted to see how some music videos represent the genres an the artist. I also use it to see if Halloween was an influenced in any music videos an how i they express this. I print screened some of the videos an pasting them onto my blog so I could refer back to them For example:

Over all i felt that all new technologies and software were all useful in certain points of production an were useful resulting a successful final piece.

Course work: Thought Bubble

After the meeting we arranged another on today to sort out times which suit everyone and then I create a schedule.

Now my research and planning is done I need to make sure that the next few weeks I have full dedication and organized so then it's successful. I want to do well so I need to meet deadlines and follow the time management.

I've concluded that my magazine will be a Halloween special, following the indie/pop/rock genre.

My Front cover will include Aishah as a skull candy wearing a white black. Also surrounded in only just text to have a professional look and also follows the trend of the other music magazine from my research.

Contents will include Khalid inspired by lady Gaga skull makeup, surrounded in text which is simple like the ones in my research.

Double Page Spread will include models Paige, Emma, Alice as a girl band, wearing dresses and holding Halloween props . The text will consist of an interview and their top 13 Halloween songs.

Costume and Front Cover

Referring back to the focus group findings they recommended that the Front cover image should be a long shot including the dress to attract the audiences eye. Looking at the research front covers I wanted to take the approach of how Lana Del Rey is represented :

I like the contrast of the innocent princess, fairy tale and rebellious, dangerous etc. which would be portraying  the different  genres (Pop and Indie) in the magazine. So for the models outfit on the front cover I was thinking a white with hints of black to express the contrast and give an edgy feel.

So I researched into singers, skull and white/black dresses and found the following images to inspire the outfit for my front cover:

I want a flowly short white dress with black lace to show the contrast and express the message . I was thinking like the image above of Katy Perry.

Double Page Spread Planning Part 2

So i was thinking about what i content i should include in my double page spread and looking the focus group research i figure I should go with the interview and then have the groups top '13' (hench halloween) songs.

The sort of questions I was thinking of asking were along the following below:
" you have just released Dark Hallows which has reached number one this week, how are you feeling about this? "
  • up coming tours
  • what they do for Halloween
  • what they think of ghosts
  • boyfriends
  • celebrity crushes
  • clash they have with another group
  • truth about their reletionship
  • questions about fans
  • who inspired them.
Top 13 songs such as :

  • Thiller Micheal Jackson
  • Beautiful Monster
  • Highway to Hell ACDC
  • I put a spell on you Nina Simone
  • Sweet Dreams Eurythmics
  • Fun House Pink
  • Supersition
